ha! Apparently that AcuRite 06002M you mentioned can be used inside a freezer to monitor freezer temperature (better range than the one they sell specifically for that use). https://github.com/trlafleur/Acurite-00592TX-Decoder-ESP32a

weewx looks neat. That screenshot is pretty nice. That's one aspect I need to keep working on with my setup is putting displays in more places.

Also not seeing you using the weewx-sdr? I'm entirely new to this so perhaps just my ignorance.

The names of these things are terrible. I'm using the RTL-SDR dongle, it's linked down from the "controller" section.

Read through it but didn't follow all the links. Didn't realized rtl_433 was the driver (different git repo though?).

This is great thank you! Do you have a smart plug that you like? I'm looking for something that monitors wattage, not just turns off/on. The Wemo Insight Smart Plug is the right kind of thing but it's not hacker friendly.

I haven't looked for that kind of thing yet. I thought the Wemo outlets let you talk directly to them on the LAN and also had Home Assistant support though!

Wow I feel dumb but I just figured something out. You know how when you launch Instagram you briefly see a photo before it scrolls way down the timeline, and you really want to see that photo, so spend the next several minutes scrolling for it and not leaving IG? Yeah… genius.

at first I thought you had found a solution for that... then it hit me 🤦‍♂️

I have to confess that geopolitical controvery is not one of the challenges I anticipated when Apple brazenly tackled Maps.

As someone who has come from the mapping world and seen the CEO make passing comments like "hey nice to see you can't chat gotta go settle this border dispute" I could have told you this was coming a hundred miles away

Did you buy a low-end iPad for $500 in April, 2010, when it debuted? If you had invested that money in $AAPL it would be worth about $4,000 today.

I once heard a rule that for every dollar you spend on apple products you should buy that much stock as well. I wish i had followed that advice.

It doesn't need to tie in to IndieAuth at all! You can just use it as an API to verify whether you've tapped the confirm button in the push notification, then start your login session on the server normally.

The trick is to use Okta's "Factor API" directly, not using the normal login API. https://developer.okta.com/docs/reference/api/factors/#getting-started-with-the-factors-api
