I guess that’s true. I don’t recall ever needing to include the same piece of code “zero to many times” in my 20 years of writing php though. 😁

I don’t like it when anybody refers to a married partner as “The Wife” or “The Husband.” Is there an argument for this usage that makes it endearing?

ugh for real! It irks me every time I hear this. I don't have a good explanation and I don't know why they do it, so I don't say anything though.

Wow that's a really old post! The "future work" section is largely complete too!

• "Collect information on current services' APIs for creating different types of content" -- this became Micropub
• "Define an API spec that could reasonably be adopted by clients like Wordpress, Path, Instagram, or open-source mobile apps" -- this became Micropub and Microsub
• "Implement filtered feeds on my website that include posts with different content types" -- this exists too now!

If you're talking about our GSuite Integration, no need to worry! As you can see here (https://bit.ly/2EajTQl), our Integration only lets you Invoice your Google Contacts, but will not sync Contacts and Clients between FreshBooks and G Suite. :) ^SG

@klandwehr I am seeing this lately as well. I think its something in Aperture. Have you notified @aaronpk?

I'm guessing you started seeing this only in the last week or so?

I have a bug in the way a maintenance task works, and it is causing old articles to pop back up when the feed is re-fetched. It should only be happening once per feed, and I'm not going to run that maintenance again until I fix the bug.

Ahh this is something I’m personally wanting to. I was going to try to make it something like Eventbrite so people can build events and send RSVPs to it as well as comments and the likes. Also this video intro is excellent, gotta make it the norm on a Mr. Rogers kinda approach, lol.

Yeah totally! Built in RSVPs is definitely on the feature list, but there's so much to it before that's even relevant.

I'm glad you like the intro 😄 I'm in enough hotels these days to always be filming a new one too!

It’s the distribution and ability to monetize their content. I made like $10 off my post about my dad on Medium. And it was easy. The experience isn’t too novel anymore either.

Didn't they drop the monetization thing a while ago? That's amazing that you made $10 tho, that's a lot in internet money.

I'm getting sick of reading things on Medium. I need to understand what the perceived benefits are so I can understand how we could make alternatives like write.as more popular.

tbh I don't know why people use it anymore. It used to be a novel writing "experience" with a nice clean editor and clean presentation as well. I think there's still something something distribution that people feel is a benefit?

And from a consumption perspective, every RSS feed reader I’ve used on iOS/macOS/web is still a far cry from what you get at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Once we make consumption easy, the creators will move. And RSS could continue powering the open web.

@aaronpk Hey, sorry, me again. I just can't figure this out and hope you can help. I'm trying to use OwnYourGram with my site (Jekyll + Github pages + Micropub endpoint). But the post gets pulled in like this, so it doesn't show the photo. Are you aware of anyone who got this to work? It needs to add a reference to the photo in the post itself.
