Your Micropub endpoint should never be returning HTTP 301, I'm guessing there is something wrong with the nginx config. Maybe you have an http-to-https redirect? Maybe the
proxy_passconfig is wrong?If the micropub endpoint on your website linked from your GitHub profile is the one in question, it looks like the problem is with the slash. Your website links to
/micropub, but the nginx config is for/micropub/, and nginx is sending a redirect fromhttps://shbgm.ca/micropubtohttps://shbgm.ca/micropub/. If you instead includehttps://shbgm.ca/micropub/as your micropub endpoint on your website, Quill should be able to post to it just fine.In general, it's not a good idea for a POST request to follow 301 redirects, which is why browsers have implemented that by making a GET request to the new location. The Micropub spec itself doesn't say anything about this, but I don't think any Micropub clients will follow a 301 redirect on the micropub endpoint itself. You're better off linking to the actual Micropub endpoint from your site in the first place.

I'd love to have the captions streamed on the livestream too! We'll see if we can make that happen next year. -

@aaronpk http://Webmention.io noob question. Is there anything bad someone could do with my access token? As in, should I be storing this outside my repo code?
All it does is allow read access to your mentions, so if you don't mind that being public it's fine to make the key public. -
I'd be happy to add a toggle to disable both kinds of backfeed. I think I will keep them enabled by default for now though.

Whoever this organization is and whatever it is they're doing, they're not doing it to or with or even in sight of the most active community of people who are trying to reinvent/decentralize social media right now.
ActivityPub was developed in literally the same W3C group that Webmention and Micropub were standardized in ;-) btw why no website in your twitter bio? Where can I follow your fediverse posts? -

They don't do email. They don't *know about* the Fediverse, or don't believe it's federated.
They do chat.

Working out the glitches of my monthly updates newsletter for May, so I can send out the first copy. Hopefully it’ll all be ready in the next day or two. First step in leaving Facebook, having an alternative.
Nice! I'd be curious to hear anything you learn! I did a little experiment with my own HTML newsletter from my blog posts, but I haven't gotten them to look right yet. -

@aaronpk Yes! It can post to Micropub or WordPress. It uses whatever blog you already have configured in the macOS app.
That's awesome! Can't wait to try this out with my photos! I never got around to building a mass import into OwnYourGram and maybe now I won't have to! -

@aaronpk Going into my settings it looks like it's already set to use Local Endpoints. Maybe that's the issue?
Not sure what could've change to cause this issue.
Ooh that's interesting, thanks! That might be a problem with OwnYourGram and Quill not properly updating the access token when you log back in. I will try to reproduce this! -

Taking Quill (https://quill.p3k.io/) out for a quick test drive. Quill is a simple app for posting text notes to your website using micropub (see https://indiewebcamp.com/micropub). It's text only so I can't apparently embed formatted links, pictures or other rich content. If I have this configured properly it _should_ post to my blog.
