@danielpunkass it has an editing context, but I think you are right that it doesn’t support a generic way to retrieve a list of all past posts. @aaronpk does that sound right to you?

    Aaron Parecki
I wouldn't say it's "not supported" so much as hasn't been spec'd yet. Most of the clients so far are posting clients not editing clients. I would love to see that part of the spec fleshed out tho!

Aww this makes me miss Voyager a lot! If I hadn't already watched through the whole thing like 3 times I would totally watch it again!

Thanks! My current Macbook has a iCore 7 and Thunderbolt ports, but my next Macbook will only have USB-C. I'm getting an AGPteK http://amzn.to/2oWWGsN on loan for the weekend but may order one of these solutions soon.
    Aaron Parecki
Only the 15" Pro has a quad core CPU so that's the only one the Elgato will work on. Can confirm it does not work on a 13" Pro. Your best bet would probably be to get a USB-C to Thunderbolt converter and the Blackmagic.

@aaronpk Any recommendations for streaming HDMI (Sony Handycam) to USB3.0 & OBS that doesn't cost more than $150? I want to stream paintings and other creative endeavors but the iPhone is too limited on focal range.
    Aaron Parecki
Do you have Thunderbolt? This is the best if so: http://amzn.to/2FvbepG Otherwise you're going to need a quad-core CPU and then you can use http://amzn.to/2oXJ0Oh

    OpenID != Open ID Connect?
Just learning about authentication, OAuth, and OpenID Connect and purchased your book!
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! OpenID Connect is actually OAuth 2 plus an identity layer, and has nothing to do with OpenID 1. While useful, OIDC doesn't solve the same bring-your-own-identity goals that OpenID 1 did.

@aaronpk no need to apologise, it's amazing and hope to be able to contribute. I'm not sure about the Notifications channel is that specifically to set up feeds you want alerts from like social mentions etc? So can I set up a feed that needs an Auth token passed in the header?

    Aaron Parecki
That's the idea yeah! Still very much in the works, and I'm experimenting with a few different ways of handling it. Right now I have my webmentions going into that channel. It would be totally appropriate if you wanted to add a private feed into that channel!

Not a bad idea! Is the speech recognition in Google Docs actually better than YouTube's built-in transcription?

Add method to remove entries from a channel

Users may want to remove an entry from a channel for various reasons. Since #4 tracking read state means we now have referenceable entry IDs, we can use those to also remove entries from a channel.

@aaronpk I have to say, I'm loving what I see. Despite the warnings I've given it a go but can't seem to get any of the feeds to update, is there a trick to it?

    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! Yeah it's a bit of a process with a few moving parts right now. I'll eventually make it easier to get going. Thankfully for now @ascraeus.org wrote up some pretty good instructions!

@aaronpk that’s looking wondrous. Any tips on running it, or is it still too flaky?

    Aaron Parecki
"Flaky" isn't the word I would use, how about "experimental"? 😄 I've committed to using it every day for the last week or so, and even turned off a bunch of my IRC sources to force myself to use it. It is changing rapidly though as I keep adding features, so it's not exactly "stable."

@aaronpk Let's plan on meeting next Wednesday, and we'll figure out a good place by then. I think Homebrew and Microblog are an excellent fit, and I would be honored to co-host!

    Aaron Parecki
Do you have any existing event copy/description you've used in the past? Also what should we call this? Homebrew Microblog Meetup? 😂

@aaronpk first thought: “Gah! That’s my provider!”

Second thought: “Wait, do I login with OpenID anywhere?”

    Aaron Parecki
Right? I'm surprised they held out so long. OpenID 1 has been effectively dead for years.

@aaronpk I haven't been to Rogue with a group, but it could work. Maybe we should try that. How many Homebrewers would you expect. I think the Microbloggers will be a small contingent to start. @verso: thoughts?

    Aaron Parecki
We were usually around 4-7 people last year, and did just monthly meetups. Part of the reason I haven't re-started them this year is it's a lot of work without a co-host!

@aaronpk @verso and I were trying to come up with the equivalent of the Green Dragon, since we are calling it Microblog and Microbrew! I like Lucky Lab, but it is admittedly noisy and the food options are meh.

    Aaron Parecki
Does the new Rogue not work for meetups anymore? I've only been there once since the change. There's also Loyal Legion maybe?
