@bretolius @aaronpk that was one of the motivations for webfinger. Instead, yeah, we just have a white-list of providers and some detection.

@blaine @bretolius If any of the new OAuth2/OpenID Connect stuff ends up widely deployed it will solve that. We can hope for the best.

sad to see that the new @w3c "Webmention" ignores @theiana #RFC 5988 registry for link relations on the web. time to sort this out, fellas.

@dret We were following the lead of the HTML5 spec in referencing the microformats rel registry.
