people who sermon others about tools they use and then use proprietary ones like Slack http://indiewebcamp.com/irc/2015-03-10/line/1426031901768 #indieweb

@bblfish lol! Those are logs from the #indiewebcamp IRC channel! I made the Slack<->IRC gateway so that we have a more accessible entry point for people finding the community for the first time. IRC can be a bit obtuse and cumbersome to newcomers, Slack has done a great job of making the same mechanism more accessible to people.

Thank you @aaronpk for all the WiFi passwords when I check into places lol. Wish there was an app just for that http://t.co/BkMgip0Yzk

@oscargodson haha! Forgot about that! There's a group of us in #pdxtech sharing a btsync folder full of passwords... works well!

@kylewm2 Ruby can do this reasonably well. @kenichi_pdx is trying to wrap it nicely as jsonatra

@aaronpk @kevinmarks @h0ke @slackhq Ah, that's not what I had in mind. I want to be able to use Slack as an IRC client via a bouncer.
    Aaron Parecki
@shazow @kevinmarks @h0ke @slackhq Yeah you could totally do that with the Slack web hooks posting to an IRC bot that's signed in to your bouncer.

@shazow @h0ke ask @aaronpk for details - @slackHQ has an irc bridge built in, but Aaron did some smart things around signup and Loqi
    Aaron Parecki
@kevinmarks @shazow @h0ke @slackHQ It basically is the Slack web hooks posting to an IRC bot.

@aaronpk @scottjenson sadly, it will not. Cannot add the processing power needed via software. Figuring out how to make v1 remain useful.
    Aaron Parecki
@alttext @scottjenson ahh that's too bad. If I had known I wouldn't have just bought my third hub ;-)

@aaronpk @scottjenson next version of the hub due out in Q2 will have local processing.
    Aaron Parecki
@alttext @scottjenson That's great news! I hope it will be a software update since I just bought another hub yesterday.

@jeena How have you been liking Subsonic so far? It's strange to me that there is a "premium" version. If it works well it's probably worth the $12/year to me, but I don't quite understand why they charge for it.

@aaronpk I thought @smartthings router short circuited the full round trip? It gets logged but not required.
    Aaron Parecki
@scottjenson @smartthings That would be nice if it did. I'll have to test if things work with the Internet connection offline.

Support discovery of hub+self in HTML <link> tags

The PuSH 0.4 spec says hubs may support &lt;link&gt; tags on HTML pages. It would be great if Superfeedr supported this, to allow more sites to use it. Some web frameworks and hosting environments make it difficult or impossible to set HTTP Link headers, so HTML tags would be the only way to do this.

    > In the absence of HTTP [RFC2616] Link headers, subscribers MAY fall back to other methods to discover the hub(s) and the canonical URI of the topic. If the topic is an XML based feed, it MAY use embedded link elements as described in Appendix B of Web Linking [RFC5988]. Similarly, for HTML pages, it MAY use embedded link elements...
