@grigs What format is the backup?
    Aaron Parecki
@maxticket Exports to an HTML file that can be imported into browser bookmarks. There's also lots of meta info in the file.

@aaronpk Cool. Stay tuned, indefinitely... (I tend to be constantly playing catch-up with writing.)
    Aaron Parecki
@erinjo "Indefinitely Tuned" ... sounds like a great name for a track on "The Endless Music Project" album.'

@aaronpk Yeah some of that. Presenting data and analysis visually to convey info (either right or wrong) and how snap decisions get made.
    Aaron Parecki
@erinjo Cool. Well I'd read it!

I'm thinking about gathering some info and writing on the psychology of viewing data. Cool topic? Boring topic? Opinions? #measure
    Aaron Parecki
@erinjo Sounds interesting. Is that like how to lie with statistics?

Marginally less bad at unicycling today than last time I tried. #fb
    Aaron Parecki
@jtbandes Speaking of unicycling, when are you back in Portland?

@dareyoudevil That's exactly what I've been doing for the last 2+ years, and the reason we're building @geoloqi! http://www.flickr.com/photos/aaronpk/4786064324/in/set-72157623306420643/

@TechWraith @aaronpk save mins/text (if theyre not unlimited) etc. :)
    Aaron Parecki
@oscargodson @Techwraith Ironic that I'm sitting here at my computer getting SMSs on my phone as we @-reply each other on Twitter.

@aaronpk Still wouldn't solve the push notification issue :P
    Aaron Parecki
@TechWraith Can't you turn on and off push notifications from the Twitter api? Or am I just being optimistic?
    Fri, Dec 10, 2010 2:39pm -08:00
  • Daniel and 10 others https://twitter.com/techwraith   •   Dec 10
@aaronpk Even better, it should use my phone's location to determine if I'm at work and not send me push notifications if I am.
    Aaron Parecki
@TechWraith You could build a simple Geoloqi app to go ping Twitter when you get to work!
    Fri, Dec 10, 2010 2:38pm -08:00
  • Daniel and 10 others https://twitter.com/techwraith   •   Dec 10
Twitter should have an "I'm at my computer now" button to stop it from sending push notifications to my phone.
    Aaron Parecki
@TechWraith Yes. I have thought that for years. I had presence integration with AIM built into my early Twitter clone from the beginning!

@aaronpk @brennannovak @soycamo I agree. it seems like there is a lot more bad PHP code out there than bad Ruby, Python, or Node.js though.
    Aaron Parecki
@TechWraith PHP has been around a lot longer. Give the others some time.
    Thu, Dec 9, 2010 2:57pm -08:00
  • Daniel and 10 others https://twitter.com/techwraith   •   Dec 9
@brennannovak @soycamo Hating PHP is understandable, there are more fun alternatives out there. PHP is still the language of the web though.
    Aaron Parecki
@TechWraith @brennannovak @soycamo Hating PHP isn't really hating PHP, it's hating people who write bad code who happen to write in PHP.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
