  • Sure is a lot of empty space out here!
  • 📍 Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa
  • I'm not opposed to this view. Actually kind of looking forward to spending the day getting some work done on this plane.
  • Okay this is pretty cool. Thanks to the magic of Wireguard, I now have bidirectional connectivity between my home network and this remote server rack! Devices on either side don't need to run wireguard and don't need any special configuration, and can reach hosts on both sides. I haven't found any documentation on configuring this, so I'm going to have to write this up soon! Shoutout to @mitch for figuring out the missing piece to make this work!
  • Trying to maintain a balance between work and play and today that meant some Switch time
  • I'm no expert in thermodynamics, but I'm pretty sure a freezer is supposed to blow *cold* air into the freezer compartment, not warm air. Thankfully the property manager was able to swap out our fridge this morning.
  • Today's construction progress: Cut out and installed the two windows, and insulated the exterior wall! It's already a lot warmer and quieter inside! The windows are just to let some light in, there's no view of the sunrise or anything, just a nice brick wall across the alley.

  • It's a sign I might be traveling too much when I get to my hotel and just want to curl up in bed with a cocktail and watch TV on my iPad instead of going exploring outside.
  • 📍 InterContinental San Francisco
  • Had a very productive day putting some more finishing touches on Meetable, with the occasional lull under a sleeping kitten.
  • Just published an updated version of my book, OAuth 2.0 Simplified! I also made a new book, The Little Book of OAuth RFCs, a collection of all the specs which are a part of OAuth. If at least one person appreciates the contrast between the sizes of these two books, I will be happy. You can find both at https://oauth2simplified.com
  • @indiewebcat jumping at a sparkly ball from above
  • Planting myself at this nice coffee shop for the morning
  • Made it to the hotel and it's cold and dark outside and now I kind of just want to hide in my room all night.
  • The kitten is in her favorite spot by the door waiting for the humans to go to bed before making her rounds around the apartment
  • I just got these reflective holographic OAuth stickers made and they are kind of the best thing ever
  • I made vegan fruit-sweetened banana bread in the shape of donuts and they are a sight to behold

  • Leaving the snow to go to LA!
  • It's a foggy morning in #Chicago and everyone is rushing to their jobs. It's much warmer today than when I arrived two days ago when it was 16 degrees!

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
