Can’t handle this much free speech.

Can’t criticize a billionaire. I can’t post Mastodon links. Can’t post information public info about FAA flights. Nothing happens when I report death threats and rape threats. And I’m assuming my account will get banned any second now.

It was never about free speech. It was always about freeing the right from the consequences for hate speech and advocating for violence while crushing left media. They didn't even try to hide it.

So now @elonmusk has reinstated the accounts of white nationalists, and insurrectionists and Nazis, but is suspending the accounts of prominent journalists without warning or explanation? Absolutely no company should be advertising on this platform.

TBH ChatGPT is now part of my kids' bedtime ritual. They take turns coming up with prompts and ChatGPT will hallucinate a story, which daddy reads aloud dramatically. Maybe it's not a sophisticated tale but it's a pretty fantastic and personal experience.

I think this answers my larger question about whether social media is a platform for free expression, or whether it's a media publication. No one would bat an eye if NYT denied Elon Musk editorial privileges at their newspaper. So Twitter is Musk's newspaper now
