I actually think DNS is decentralized enough for my taste, but is rather difficult/expensive to set up and run a website (comparatively).

That's all conservatism is anymore: "I want the world to be the way I thought it was when I was 8. It doesn't matter whether it was really that way or not, all that matters is that I don't like being a grown-up dealing with a big, complicated world and someone's gonna pay."

We haven't seen anything genuinely useful come out of the year+ of web3 hype. Either innovate or go sell your stuff to Wall Street. Which is where this stuff actually works.

I taught a class today to a room of artists about how websites work, and how to make one. It restored my faith in the open web, because everyone instantly got it.

Interviewed a full stack developer and he couldn’t even write a program to detect if another program would ever halt or not. I mean come on. He’s so dependent on running the program and seeing if it halts, he was totally lost without it
