my parents bought their house in 1976 for $58,000. in 2022 dollars, that would be $279,160.

their 2022 assessment valued the house at $2.09 million.

i don't think getting married at 34 instead of 24 is the reason my generation can't buy homes. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

That actually go against your community guidelines.

This isn't the first time this has happened but tbh, this is what drives people away from using YouTube to build their businesses and makes us turn to building our own email lists and promote Patreon over YouTube memberships.

Urgent reminder: the economy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the environment. Fixating on short term growth while the parent company teeters on the brink of collapse is a myopic as it is negligent.

We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.

So I think it’s a decent question to ask whether settling Mars really reduces existential risk or not. More on that below. But 1st I gotta ask whether Mars-skeptics have actually run economics models on it or not. I have, and AFAICT it will not be that hard to settle Mars. 🧵 1/n

looks like discord is testing a per-server subscription thing, as in, the subscription fee goes to the server owner

discord access is a hugely popular (but clunky) patreon reward so this is kind of a genius move??

Many people look to case numbers to form opinions on risk, but wastewater can actually provide a better reflection of the COVID-19 cases than PCR testing data. This is one example from San Francisco, but we're seeing the same thing across the country. Stay safe out there! (4/4)
