I've always been bothered by the classic urbanist Powerpoint slide showing "this is how much space people take up walking/biking/busing/driving."

While illustrative, it has several flaws that actually undermine its important message.

I think the blockchain crowd is trying out a pivot to claim that their critics don't understand all of technology generally, rather than blockchains specifically?

I assure you, that is not the case. And once again, our skepticism is because we *do* understand.

Folks who love NFTs need to recognize that there are reasons not to love them, and not just the environmental impact. I see that you are really excited about this, but it seems kinda like no one makes money unless more people are always buying in.

We have a name for that.

Right now, the entire crypto space is awash with money laundering, fraud, schemes, theft, and tax evasion. It is a mess.
