OAuth is an excellent alternative to OpenID. If you find yourself in the need of an authentication system for your app, consider it.

Web1: typing email credentials into random apps leads to phishing & losing access to email

Web2: using OAuth/OpenID with random apps leads to sharing personal info or posting on your feed/timeline

Web3: using Metamask with random apps means you lose all your NFTs & crypto
