I just received a two factor authentication SMS from Google that included an ad. Google's own Messages SMS app flagged it as spam.

What a shameful money grab.

at first I was like, wow Google went and did the evil thing

....then you read the thread and realize that the *carrier* injected this ad into a 2FA SMS 😈

This is a look at permits for new multifamily apartment buildings in Portland... You see 2020 and 2021? It has some folks worried the city may find itself in a similar scenario from a few years ago.

The Portland Airport officially hit 116°F shortly after 5pm this evening making this the warmest temperature on record. This breaks yesterday's warmest temperature on record of 112°F. 3 days ago the warmest temperature on record was 107°F set twice in Aug '81 & once in Jul '65.

I admire people that make YouTube videos. A lot of them have other things they have to do (paid gigs, day jobs, etc.) - they don't HAVE to make those videos.

They could be watching Netflix, or doing something else. So if you're a creator, know that your efforts are appreciated.

Worldpay apparently mixed up the date and the amount in a batch of card payments, so anybody who rode a fairground ride at Brighton Palace Pier on 18 April 2021 has been charged £2,104.18.

Wow.

I want to share how the scammers almost got into my bank account, because I think as tech savvy people, sometimes we forget we are still vulnerable, and it's always good to have a reminder of what to watch out for.
