I just uttered the statement “I have a flask pocket in these sweatpants,” and that’s pretty much the most quarantine thing I’ve ever said.

Many people celebrate DST. All rituals are very weird when you consider them! For example, gathering once a year to eat turkey is very weird. Stringing lights on a tree in the winter is weird. When traditions are popular or old, it doesn't make them more or less normal.

every time I think about NFT art I just get angry again at how stupid the whole thing is, not like stupid as in "new faddish stuff may not hold water", stupid as in literally the entire premise is fucking idiotic, you're paying for a receipt that says "i paid money" and that's it

This is a clever idea. They’re tokens you can buy that have a guaranteed value and can be transferred to other owners as needed, and they’re fairly privacy-robust—there’s nothing tying your identity to any particular token. Low environmental impact, too. https://kmikeym.myshopify.com/products/0-25-unit-fungible-token

A year ago I was a swag industry leader making branded eggplants for top Twitch streamers, oranges for SiriusXM, and avocados for SaaS conferences. We promptly halted operations due to canceled events at the moment the business was thriving at >5k fruits per month. I miss it.
