Indieweb uses JSON where it makes sense - in Micropub and Microsub for example; Webmention was designed to work with any web resource, not just JSON ones.
Microformats define a way to get consistent JSON out of HTML web pages, and plenty of tooling to do it

anyway, i think that social media silos of all kinds (including and especially twitter) are bad, and that people should instead publish their views on their own websites. if only there were a specification that allowed for people to easily do that...

The contacts list in my phone is not a list of my friends. There are people on that list that I never want to hear from and that I would prefer not to have any information about what I'm doing. I will never want to send an invite to anything to my contacts list.

A small update to this. The day after my twitter thread about @ICANN I finally got a reply to one of my many e-mails. Quote: "I apologize for our delay in getting back to you" (aka: Thanks for retweeting). And today we had a voice chat about the application. Another thread!

We literally have RSS email broadcasts set up for THIS EXACT REASON. So people can be notified when a new recipe is posted. It’s direct from us to them without some dick taking advantage of us in the middle.
