5 years ago today I started my YouTube channel.

I remember thinking โ€œwow Iโ€™m so late to be starting my channel in 2015โ€.

Itโ€™s never too late to start. Just make vids. One of the best decisions Iโ€™ve ever made. โ˜บ๏ธ

I simply cannot tell you how it feels to transport a patient out of a Covid ward and into a hospice, spend 30 minutes deconning the ambulance with bleach, and then have to argue with the next patient about whether Covid is โ€œrealโ€. I just donโ€™t have the words.

Remember when you were a kid playing group games and there were always a couple kids who just kind of ignored the rules and the teacher always said โ€œyouโ€™re ruining the game for everyone!โ€?

    Thatโ€™s what COVID-19 feels like.

Update from Sign-in User Research: Today's interviewee is an engineer who writes for a cybersecurity journal. He uses one password to sign into his accounts. Not 1password; one (1) password that's the same more or less everywhere. He knows it's bad, but does it anyways.

And I don't blame him. The thing is - if this guy doesn't use a password manager, the vast majority of people are never going to, either. The odds are as if Trump lost Wyoming or Biden lost California. Password managers are not the solution to online security, and never will be.

Good call. If I were them, with the lack of success with it the last couple years, I'd want to phase it out anyway. So this actually "worked out well", so to speak. But who knows, if things turn around, they obviously can bring it back, but as I said...this is a good way to exit.

Good call. In 2020, YouTube is so big that it means very different things to everyone. To me, it doesn't make much sense to mostly celebrate the viral entertainment stars.

I never really cared about YouTube rewind since it always seemed to focus on such a select few creators. If they made one this year I think it would come off tone deaf.
