Yes Zoom had a good quarter but more importantly...

The new version (5.2.2) enables professional music mode.

48khz, 96kbs per channel, all processing off.

    Let the concerts begin.

There are 3 main factors that affect video performance on YouTube and SUBSCRIBERS isn't one of them.

CLICK THRU RATE is the barrier to entry on a video.

    AVERAGE VIEW DURATION dictates enjoyment.

WATCH TIME thru CHANNEL tells YouTube you're helping the platform.

Can someone explain why when you know another language some words in your native language get replaced? In English I still use German works like Aufzug (elevator), Baumarkt (hardware store), Spargel (asparagus), etc. to the point of almost forgetting the English word. It's weird.

Aaron links to NASA's Send your name to Mars page where you can apply for a virtual boarding pass and get your name sent on the next mission to the red planet.

It reminded me that they did the same thing before the Orion mission in 2014.

But what if it isn't just a virtual boarding pass? What if it was for something more serious?

I wrote a short story at the time which I have re-posted here.

    2. Quote Tweets will appear right next to Retweets

I installed a kitchen faucet that can connect to Alexa (β€œAlexa, ask <brand> to dispense 1 cup hot water”). The problem is that when the faucet is running, Alexa can’t hear me to tell it to turn off. Well that’s one problem, actual utility is another. Also, no timer.

"Interoperability as a tool for competition regulation" by @1br0wn https://osf.io/preprints/lawarxiv/fbvxd

Really interesting and deep analysis of how interoperability may be a path to better competition in the social media space. Pairs well with Cory Doctorow's recent book touching similar themes: https://onezero.medium.com/how-to-destroy-surveillance-capitalism-8135e6744d59
