HEY’s UI is 100% HTML over the wire. We render plain-old HTML pages on the server and send them to your browser encoded as text/html. No JSON APIs, no GraphQL, no React—just form submissions and links.

If you think that sounds like the web of 25 years ago, you’re right! Except the HEY front-end stack progressively enhances the “classic web” to work like the “2020 web,” with all the fidelity you’d expect from a well-built SPA.

Hey sounds pretty cool. It would be even cooler if it was just a mail client and not tightly bound into a hosted service with control over your email address.

I have found no indication these outages are DDoS related. Rather, there may be Sprint/T-Mobile issues related to a wonky update in the systems from the Sprint side to help merge with T-Mobile. Not sure what may be up w/ other carriers. See: https://puck.nether.net/pipermail/outages/2020-June/013124.html

I’m pretty sure @Twitter’s #AudioTweet is not a cheap trick to get mic access on our devices for ad targeting. Pretty sure.

As companies start bringing work back to offices, many executives will realize how bad the audio and video is in their conference rooms. It was always just barely intelligible for most, almost all, companies.

They just didn’t notice it while they were joining from those rooms.

I wish I could pop out chats in #Slack. I want all my active chats visible at once. It's really easy to lose a conversation when I have several going at once, or I'm waiting for a reply that might not happen for hours.
