    Streaming video is incredibly stupid and will put huge, unnecessary strains on our ISPs.

    Imagine if all the households simply downloaded copies of what they wanted to watch. At a fixed bandwidth. And shared those copies with their nearby friends.

    We solved this problem ~1996.

    live talks have benefits… in person. there's energy. you can see the crowd and adjust.

    the only benefit of a fully live talk online is interrupting yourself to answer a question, and i think that's a bad practice.

    and recorded & edited talks work the same, every time.
