You know what I really ❤️ about the #Indieweb is how all documentation and communication between the enthusiasts is so well organised and perfectly made available for future reference and it all is linked up really well together. You can keep up-to-date with the latest info by simply visiting the IRC chat logs from time to time. cf. https://chat.indieweb.org/meta/2019-10-21#bottom

Google Calendar feature suggestion: Blind Cancel.

If you blind cancel a meeting it sends no notifications and the meeting is NOT cancelled.

But if EVERYONE on the meeting blind cancels, it IS cancelled. (Because nobody wanted it, and everyone was attending due to obligation.)

“Ubiquitous computing is still a fantasy, but not because the technology isn’t ready. It is. The fantasy is that any system mediating someone’s personal experience of the physical world that uses a modern corporation’s digital infrastructure would be objective or neutral. Humans are data and data is money, and this is the business model of many of the technology firms up to the task of ubiquitous computing.”

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
