Google Calendar feature suggestion: Blind Cancel.

If you blind cancel a meeting it sends no notifications and the meeting is NOT cancelled.

But if EVERYONE on the meeting blind cancels, it IS cancelled. (Because nobody wanted it, and everyone was attending due to obligation.)

Had some fun at Indie Web Camp Brighton on the weekend messing around with @Stamen’s lovely watercolour map tiles.

(I was trying to create Indiana Jones style travel maps for my site …a different kind of Indy web.)

“Ubiquitous computing is still a fantasy, but not because the technology isn’t ready. It is. The fantasy is that any system mediating someone’s personal experience of the physical world that uses a modern corporation’s digital infrastructure would be objective or neutral. Humans are data and data is money, and this is the business model of many of the technology firms up to the task of ubiquitous computing.”

It really is awesome having @Uber as an option when traveling in a foreign country. Knowing with confidence that you’re going where you expect to go, without worrying about language barriers or if you have enough cash, is great. Love the subway, but #TooTiredToDeal

Colleagues had a car broken into and laptops stolen in downtown Mountain View last night while we were at dinner. We wondered how they knew to break into the hatchback when it is not see- through.

They turn on bluetooth scanners and follow the beacon to find electronics.

OhMahGod. Potential client emails, asks about rates. Someone else CCd; I re:all. Other person is apparently friend/photographer who replies ALL basically “oh my god you could hire me for a month for that!”. Immediately realized mistake and sends huge apology. I’m still laughing.
