Phrases that mean so much more to me after starting to milk goats: kick the bucket, crying over spilled milk and a drop in the bucket.

Especially tonight when Taffy kicked the bucket three times!!!

How many tech startups in 2019 could be built with Airtable and Zapier alone? Spoiler: a lot.

Sure, you may need one or two others. Or you may prefer any of the great alternatives. (Hi Quip, IFTTT, Transposit!) Regardless, these kinds of prosumer, automation-friendly tools are truly great now, especially for building service oriented products. You can ship MVPs on them that comfortably serve your first 10k+ users, and likely more, with little to no actual code. That’s stunning.

Early cloud computing was a big shift that dramatically reduced the cost of bootstrapping a tech application. App stores on phones were another. This may be the third. Add in the largest pool of available capital ever, and there’s never been a better time to start a tech company.

(Having said that, founding a startup is still a brutal, unforgiving, and all-consuming. That way lie dragons, as always. Entrepreneur beware.)

One time in Prague I went to a mart and got q-tips. Cleaned my ears on the sidewalk and it was the most glorious thing. (it was a long, q-tipless trip to that point)

Forgive me for all the FaceApp tweets but as everyone knows the best thing to do with machine learning algorithms is to feed them recursive data so I fed my old picture through until it stopped recognizing a face and here’s the progression.

CATS is a shitpost of a musical. It’s intentionally nonsensical & bizarre, & pokes fun at convention in commercial ways instead of intellectually interesting ones.

Actually, every major Andrew Lloyd Webber musical is a shitpost.

I’m going to break them down for y’all. THREAD.

Let's talk about peeing in space.

Several people, in response to my NY Times essay, have said that women couldn't go into space because we lacked the technology for them to pee in space.

    ✅ Am I being contrarian?
✅ Do I already have a relationship with this person, or am I being inappropriately familiar?
✅ Am I "ironically" doing exactly what this person just said not to do?
✅ Am I derailing another legitimate discussion in order to get on my own favourite hobby-horse or to one-up this person in my knowledge of social issues?
✅ Am I saying "Are you surprised?" when they're disappointed?
✅ Am I providing unsolicited advice?
