I’m doing some research trying to find the reasons why cycling in the Netherlands is so sensational and in most other countries so average. I’m perplexed. All I can find is this pink pic.

Giving a conference talk in 5 acts:

    1. I really want to give a talk. 👍
    2. Why the fuck did I say yes to this? 😰
    3. Oh God, this is going to be awful. 😭
    4. Adrenaline and sweat. 😱
    5. That was cool, people seemed to not hate it. 😎

    Repeat and learn nothing.

I grew up cycling everywhere, and my observation is that America absolutely doesn’t understand bicycles even a little bit at all.

One day on the iOS 13 beta, and it has already caught these apps trying to use Bluetooth in the background (for non-audio use; audio doesn’t count here).

Waze is the only one I’ve even launched. The rest were from background refresh, possibly using location-tracking analytics?

Just found a badly needed USB charging cable in my hoarder’s box of cables, so I guess what I’m saying is, if you’re lucky enough to have a box of cables in your life, hold on to it and never let it go.

People like @grantlovescars make fun of me for still using @swarmapp — then they ask the name of a restaurant we ate at 6 years ago and I know. Why? Because I have a log of the last decade of good places I’ve been.
