It's https://developur.rs day with @laura!
I really enjoyed this one: https://developur.rs/posts/laura-kalbag/
i remember my mp3 player, one of those clickwheel ipods, and it was just a hard drive with a headphone jack. you could boot and partition the hard drive or add music by just loading files -- things that today would be considered wicked hacks on proprietary systems were a matter of drag-and-drop in 2003.
I admire Aaron for his capability and willingness to be on road, traveling so often. It takes efforts to keep your mind fresh and body energized to fly around places. But some part of me also envy him that he gets to visit such fascinating locations and meet such diverse set of people all along. No doubt his perspective towards things is so genuine.
Travel makes you earnest. Wish I had means, and importantly zeal, to travel more.
Nice term I just learned via Zach Mandeville (https://coolguy.website/): "the chorus". It's his alternative name for the decentralized web, including and beyond the fediverse (so Dat and SSB and other things), one that avoids being a negative definition that defines itself in relation to what it is not.
