The thing that pisses me off the most about this Wil Wheaton thing is that there is a bunch of us who were talking about essential community management tools and techniques a fucking decade or more ago, and we were all ignored. And now what we see is that the lessons we all learnt and discussed back then have not just not been learnt by today's admins, but the scale of the problem has been allowed to get out of hand. And now it's very hard to put the genie back in the bottle.

What’s happening to @wilw is shameful and a classic example of using tools that are supposed to be for protecting users to persecute one instead. A strong community leader would shut this shit down. The guy has only contributed positively to Mastodon. If the Masto community continues to eat itself in this way, it will only become a smaller, shittier, angrier Twitter.

Exporting music from my band before 2001. Lucky I kept some of the software and it still can run. Yes, that’s Windows 7 on A MacBook Pro from 2010. I plan to see if I can remix and remaster some of it.

Hair update. Channeling @thebethbarnett@twitter.com a bit. It's warmer tones than I was going for but apparently purple shampoo and time will make it silver/grey-er. Or a second round of bleach. https://rhiaro.co.uk/2018/08/photos-hair

Building things out of wood makes me so damn happy. Also, now I'm at the point where I can just decide to build a door to the turkey house and not have to go out and buy any supplies. I had everything I needed already. This makes me proud in a way I can't really explain.

Oh good, now I have another 4,000 word blog post draft that I'll probably sit on for a while because I don't know how to edit it into something coherent 😓

(This one's all the technical details I've learned about how RSS/Atom feed publishers can implement RFCs 5005 and 6721. It's not going to be exciting to all that many people. I just hope people who develop blog/CMS software find it helpful...)
