This live stream is everything I ever wanted (besides actually being there). Feedback: There's a din from some kind of machine noise in the audio. The toggling between the stage view and the slides is great!

Great post but I think you sell short how much organizing the #indieweb community has done over the last 7-10 years.

Getting to this point to massive organization from committed enthusiasts.

What we need is not more organization but more organizers.

It is not up to the #indieweb community to grow the movement, that is your job, my, job and then it belongs to those we onboard.

Organize a HomeBrew Web club in your town. Convince a small business they need a website and not just a facebook page. Make a series of instructional videos to pass around your circles.

  • I cleaned up the duplicates after importing my Instagram photos. There was no shortcut. I had posted in both places or used OwnYourGram since launch. It only took an hour. A very pleasant hour, looking at favorite photos, now liberated from their silo.

The end goal is not for every individual blogger and website owner to add HEAD tags to their websites, it’s that the tools that allow people to use the websites support adding the HEAD tags automatically. Like micro.blog. If you add Twitter/GitHub in the settings, it automatically applies rel=“me” to the links. As a user you don’t have to understand the technical aspect. That is the end goal, platform/software owners understand the tech stuff and users use the platforms/softwares
