@aaronpk Oh, gotcha. I've been wary about having everything contained to a single device, thought this was something that synced.
In this case, a laptop would use its camera for a QR code scan? I wonder if a Yubikey would be a better option serving all devices.
Oh, the cross device flow is a separate issue of whether a device syncs. What I'm doing is logging in to a website on a computer, where the passkey is in my phone. The computer shows a QR code and I scan it with my phone and it logs me in.
I also have a Yubikey Bio, which counts as two factors so some websites let me log in with only that, no password. It's also pretty cool. -

Not sure what you mean. The cross device flow is where the passkey lives only on the phone and you scan the QR code on the other device. So the key never lives on the other device. -

Especially when those long passwords are obscured in the entry field. I cannot tell you how many times I've had to double-check the order I was typing stuff in with two index fingers. As opposed to touch typing.
Exactly! At least with the memorable passwords it's easier to tell if I've typed the right word -

I'm setting up a temporary laptop for my next trip and it's shocking how much faster the cross-device passkey flow is compared to looking up and hand typing my long 1Password passwords
