@aaronpk hah we might have the same wiring. "If my hands are available I need to be working on something" ๐Ÿ˜„

oh it's bad. I refuse to leave the house unless I have *two* reasons. I will not go to only one grocery store. It has to be at least grocery store and take out the trash.

@aaronpk Gak, yeah, it's why I stopped doing gel because not only does it wreck your nails but is so time consuming

    Aaron Parecki
I first thought I'd let them just grow out naturally but then a month later they were starting to look messy and only 1/3 grown out and didn't want two more months of this.

So when I was a kid, we had HBO, and we had a VCR, and my dad diligently recorded what appeared to me to be every single movie playing on HBO until our entire hall closet was a movie library full of VHS tapes. It only occurs to me now to ask, was that normal?
    Aaron Parecki
I knew someone who did this too! I remember the many bookshelves of VHS tapes in his home office, looked king of like library shelves

Okay shiny black fingernails were fun but wow gel nail polish is really time consuming and messy to remove!
    Aaron Parecki
At least soaking my fingers for 15 minutes per hand gives me an excuse to catch up on some videos

Is anyone up for convincing me that the HTTP accept header is a good idea?

I understand the theory: every resource should have the same URI, and should be able to deliver to clients in the format that they indicate they can best handle - eg an image served as WEBP to supporting clients but falling back to JPEG

But we have 20+ years of real-world experience with it now, and I'm not at all convinced that those theoretical benefits outweigh the drawbacks: mainly its lack of discoverability

    Aaron Parecki
    It's not just you!

And to this day I am glad you found that coffee and worked on Webmention - I'm enjoying it in so many ways. If only I'd have known you were doing this in 2016 - I'd have loved to have contributed - thanks for all the hard work!

    Aaron Parecki
    haha thanks!

Note to self: find out why my TSA pre check didnโ€™t work on this flight. Taking ALL my camera gear out for inspection really slowed things down for everyoneโ€ฆ
    Aaron Parecki
ugh ugh ugh. Yeah probably it was a full name vs partial name mixup. If you notice it's missing on your boarding pass sometimes you can get the ticket counter agent to fix it for you before security.

Thatโ€™s why Tesla is right about banning remote work. I know a guy who claims to work for Tesla but also has a gig at a Telcom, at a freight company, does a side job digging holes, sells medical implants AND trades crypto. But he spends most of his time shitposting on twitter.

See it this way: it you are going to great lengths to build a house from scratch, youโ€™ll want to spend more time enjoying it ๐Ÿ˜Š

Similar position with @Delta - in terms of miles, the rollover alone was enough to reach Diamond 3 times already๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿ’Ž
But their spend requirement, $20K, will be VERY hard to reach.

Alaska was very nice to continue my 2019 status through 2020, 2021, and 2022 despite me flying less than would qualify for even the first tier, but alas I think my time as a top tier flyer has come to an end ๐Ÿฅฒ
