fwiw, I understand why people have this sentiment, but never feel like you can’t have a life (even a social media life) because someone has emailed you. Everyone knows these are different parts of our lives.

Indeed. Web3 is Web2 is Web1. Each of them doomed not because they became centralized, but because they each are rooted in the false premise that disintermediation = democratization, & that enhancing modalities for communication, without regard to rules, is a form of empowerment.
