The internet has lots of websites that other people can use. There are password-protected websites, but if you forget your password, you have to contact the site owner to get it. OAuth 2.0 makes it easier for people to use these websites because their passwords won’t get lost.

I’ve seen a lot like BH sells them but I want something as thin as the sd card holder that surrounds like when you get a SIM card.
    Aaron Parecki
That'd be cool, but I don't see how it would snap into the holder and also be removable. This one only adds about 1mm the thickness, and I could probably shave off another 0.2mm if I really wanted to.

The assumption that people will have consistent access to the same mobile number simply isn’t true for a lot of people. Phones cost money. So do phone plans. Phones break or get stolen. We all know this. Yet people who don’t have phones still need access to their email accounts.

@aaronpk my habenero (and cayenne and Thai chili and scotch bonnets with pineapple) are currently fermenting. Hot sauce soon though! Yours looks good, might have to try some mustard in it.

    Aaron Parecki
Sounds delicious! Mine is a bit of a shortcut, no fermentation needed! I was originally going for something close to Secret Aardvark but it's changed a bit from that over the years.

  • Web3 is not Decentralisation — it’s a Ploy to put Crypto Bros in Charge | by Ross Stalker | Nov, 2021 | Medium (medium.com)
"Imagine if someone were to suggest that all web infrastructure should share the same database. That would rightly be seen as an absurd idea — but that’s what Web3 advocates are essentially suggesting. A blockchain is a distributed append-only database, spread across multiple nodes, but it is still one single database. In the name of decentralisation, Web3 advocates in fact seek to create a new form of centralisation around the blockchain."

@aaronpk do you boil the glasses in water so that they're sterile after closing them up?

    Aaron Parecki
Yeah when I'm properly canning them I'll do that, when I am planning on keeping them around more than 6 months. It's already full of acid and vinegar so it keeps a long time in the fridge even when not sealed and sterilized properly. We go through hot sauce extremely quickly since it's a key component of breakfast every day.

I skimmed over the docs for GPME:Crypto and didn't see any specific information regarding key expectations. I don't know Ruby. Any way you could have the application spit out more information than "There was a problem!"? Would make it easier to figure out what is failing exactly.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah I should make it bubble up the error better. I just checked the logs and it looks like your key.txt URL is returning 404

Yep, I tried with `--clearsign` as well as `--sign --armor` and both game me a "There was a problem!" message. Tried doing it from both Mac and Windows just in case there was some funny business happening. Do you have more information on the expectations of the key?
    Aaron Parecki
i'm not totally sure, but this is the code it uses to verify in case you want to try to track it down https://github.com/aaronpk/indielogin.com/blob/main/pgp/app.rb
