"But it's Open Source" look when the magician invites you to "check for yourself it's a perfectly ordinary hat" you can be 100% sure that the hat you are handed to carefully check is perfectly ordinary- all that means is the trick is elsewhere, not that there's no trick.

They can pay you for an insert only. You make whatever, segway (segue) to sponsor message, back to video. When it’s for the whole video, ah...no.
    Aaron Parecki
But if you have just a sponsor message inserted in the middle of the video, you still wouldn't say "this portion of the video is sponsored by" because it's obviously the sponsor read

When did it become a thing to have a sponsor in a video but say they’re ‘sponsoring THIS PORTION of my video’?
In my 13 years of doing sponsored videos I’ve never once said that.
    Aaron Parecki
I have been wondering this same thing! Especially when the entire video has some connection to the sponsor and it's not just a sponsor read in the middle. And even if it was, that'd still be them sponsoring the whole video. I don't get it.

New #blogpost: “Misinformation about Permissions Policy and FLoC”.

Lots of people have been spreading the often-unnecessary advice to add a Permissions-Policy response header to their sites, and some have been going so far as to ask FLOSS maintainers to patch their software to make this the default.

If you read the actual proposals and W3C specs, you’ll find a different story.

Everybody: please calm down, take a deep breath, and read before you make such prescriptive advice.

FLoC is terrible, but telling everyone to add a magic “opt-out header” in every situation conveys a misunderstanding of everything you need to know about the opt-in/out process.

i'm sure there are people who care about the environment more than the grift, and i hope you're one of them. until they win out over those who care only about the grift and use pos & flimsy arguments to paper over their active hatred toward the future, i won't go anywhere near.
