Hmm. The more I think about this, it might be okay. Who wants to hang out on zoom, drinking and cooking/eating homemade BBQ? When the first person on the call gets sunrise, we switch to breakfast burritos.

The challenge with doing a remote SXSW is that no amount of video conferencing technology can replicate Texas BBQ, followed getting drunk in a series of Austin bars, then recovering with breakfast burritos the next day.

Whoa SXSW is cancelled? Thats kinda crazy. I wonder if NAB is gonna get cancelled too. I kinda wanted to go this year again.
    Aaron Parecki
So far they put out a statement saying it's still on. I'm hoping they don't cancel cause it's gonna be my first time going there!

@aaronpk what do you think would be a workaround to get Comments/questions (like vMix Social) into Atem Mini? Thx
    Aaron Parecki
You're basically limited to using the picture-in-picture or keyer to overlay an HDMI source on top of the video, so you'd need to find some software that can display the comments/questions on half or a third of a 1920x1080 screen. I'm sure there are solutions out there tho!

A lot of us have sort of made fun of virtual events for years

We do know that getting on jets and meeting prospects and customers works, and is important

But what will be interesting is someone now will find a way to re-imagine boring virtual events into something new

Scientists: you should wash your hands because of Coronavirus.

People: I'm gonna stop flying, hoard masks, work from home & totally rearrange my life.

Also Scientists: the #ClimateCrisis will kill millions - we must use clean power & change how we get to work.

    People: No way.

@aaronpk I guess I was wondering if I could host event pages on micro.blog, instead of Facebook events for instance. Not that I do, just want an alternative.

    Aaron Parecki
Interesting idea! How would you want Meetable involved in that case? Right now that's where the event pages live.

@aaronpk Hey! Is there a way to integrate Meetable with a site hosted on micro.blog? Really appreciate your work on this, and will be buying you a couple beers!!!

    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! What sort of integration did you have in mind? You should already be able to post replies and photos to events there by linking to an event page in a post.
