I don’t miss Twitter and I definitely don’t miss Facebook. However, I did miss most of the conversations yesterday on my micro.blog feed because I was traveling. It didn’t take long for that to become important to me.

As a non-techy person, I need yall to understand: just because you *hope* your technology won't be used for harassment, spam, and abuse doesn't mean assholes won't find a way. You need reporting tools. You need to safeguard for your users.

Get it through your thick fucking skulls already.

We generally think about language as a THING: letters, sounds, signs. But little bits of silence or invisibility are found surprisingly often in language.
