@postleafapp Great! Yes, it's been in development for a few years, and reached @w3c Recommendation status in January.

We'd need a way to 1) authenticate and verify a user and 2) programmatically post comments to blogs regardless of their comment system.

Thanks - I'm talking more about the server-side implementation for building the feeds and receiving the Webmentions... will that be open?
@ummjackson I don't think they're planning on making it open source. Plenty of OSS code for Webmentions here tho https://indieweb.org/Webmention-developer -

Anyone in the IndieWeb space know if http://micro.blog is going to be an OSS protocol vs. a closed source company?
@ummjackson You can use the micro.blog iOS app to post to your own Micropub website, and the site also sends Webmentions!
