@waxpancake Is the HTML for http://belong.io open source? I'd love to add microformats to it so I can add it to my reader!

There are 2 rules to build an #IoT thing… (1) don’t build a platform. (2) if you do build a platform, make it do one thing, not all things.

Could you use an acoustic coupler with an iPhone? Would that be the most hipster way possible to log onto the Internet?

Yes, the problem with architecture astronauting is that it encourages amateur crypto-usage, which then it seems certain people get emotionally attached to, despite a relatively sane pushback from industry.

Well that was unsettling. Was harshly woken up by the sound of crackling and my lights flickering, then a pop and the apartment went dark. In a half-awake stupor I was confused why one of my lights was still working. Took me a while to realize it was only the circuit for my outlets that had tripped.

I tried to reset the breaker, but it snapped again immediately after I turned it back on. So my thought is something on the circuit has shorted, or I've just overloaded that circuit.

Either way, I can'e believe they built a brand new building and put all the plugs in this apartment on a single 15-amp circuit. Seems like it wouldn't have been that much harder to at least split it into two!
