Why is mapping/Geo so big, right now? What motivates the use to monitor where we are? More and more we want to know. Why? #geoloco

Why is mapping/Geo so big, right now? What motivates the use to monitor where we are? More and more we want to know. Why? #geoloco
@AnthroPunk It's not new, it's just that the tech is mainstream now, so it has more users. People have been mapping their hikes for years.
