@tlockney I wrote my own IRC bot since I couldn't find one I liked. It archives all the tweets in a searchable database too.

@aaronpk agreed! xAuth seems pretty awesome, but I feel like I'm missing a chunk of it.
    Aaron Parecki
@TechWraith Apparently xAuth is just like oAuth but provides a way to pass a user/pass to get the token instead of redirecting to the site.

What will I watch now that Lost is over? I pretty much just watch 30 Rock, and that doesn't have Jorge Garcia.
    Aaron Parecki
@nickcummings Hey, that's what they said when the Truman show ended!

Wish I could download the knowledge of how xAuth works directly into my brain without going through my optical interface.

@maxogden I've got your ruby code able to update part of my Latitude data. The timestamp updates but the lat/long stays the same. :/

@aaronpk Note: I'm sure that I could integrate Gmail into my email workflow, but I don't really see why I should.
    Aaron Parecki
@michaelowens If you've got Mail.app working, that's great. I hop between too many computers to store mail locally on a single system.

@aaronpk Oddly enough, I don't use Gmail at all, and the one I use to sign up for stuff still gets relevant emails now and then.
    Aaron Parecki
@michaelowens That's actually somewhat surprising. What do you use instead and why?

Finally got around to cleaning out my e-mail inboxes. Noticed that most of it was "notification spam" from social sites.

    Stopping that now.
    Aaron Parecki
@michaelowens You could set up filters in Gmail to file those away automatically, or just use a separate account to sign up for services.

@jahgru Thanks for the heads up! Just turned off dropbox for the day thanks to your warning. #devsat

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
