I know "I hope this message finds you well" is a normal way to start an email, but what about if I am in fact not well? Am I supposed to say thanks but this message didn't find me well??-

@aaronpk my English isn't so good, and not my primary language.. so I always thought that it meant literally for the email to arrive in the inbox well (not in spam) , and not about the state, well-being of the receiving end ๐

If someone wrote me that not being a close friend, I'd find it shallow. Which, perhaps, was your point?
