The web needs to take itself less seriously. It's barely out of its twenties and suddenly it's all like "I can't make fansites for hippos anymore, I have businesses to run".

@aaronpk probably knows some folks there rather than a generic news feed
    Aaron Parecki
oof yeah that's tough, a side effect of the low tech activation key mechanism they use. I can reach out to my contacts to help if you'd like tho.

One interesting thing to explore with having my own domain on here is being able to separate create utility accounts strongly associated with my name. @blog, as a very simple initial example.

    Aaron Parecki
Ages ago I built a social network that worked like that! You could create categories under your account and people could follow all or some of them. I called them "channels" then.

@aaronpk One of the versions of this inside Twitter for a while was named “voices”, which I always liked the feel of. Being able to follow either an entire account or specific channels has some interesting utility, for sure.

    Aaron Parecki
ohh did this get prototyped but never shipped? I think it'd be really interesting for sure! The good news is we can just do this on the web instead!

i’m not sure when or why it happened but if your youtube title isn’t all lowercase and somewhat vague i’m probably not gonna click on the video.

don't inconvenience yourself too much, but if you've got the spare cycles: I have my serial numbers for the speed editor and Resolve Studio license and this is a ~2-week-old purchase — it feels like this would be a very easy fix for them if they wanted it to be

Sent an email. Will let you know when I hear back, but we're now heading into the holidays so I can't promise a timely response 😅

These days he’s mostly channeling this energy for good. He’s reading a JS book @sarah_edo lent me and quizzes me on how JS vars work. 😂 He loves it when I make a mistake.

I'm so glad you've kept this thread going for 2 years, that was quite the journey 😅

He’s still a hacker but we’re channeling that into building hydraulic arms. Creating mazes. Cardboard structures. And lots and lots of reading. Now that he reads he can mostly do @kiwico_inc tinker crates by himself.
