@aaronpk Are you using Gimp now or something else?

    Aaron Parecki
no i really don't like that software. I'm using mostly Lightroom on iOS and Affinity Photo on mac, and Keynote for some things I used to do in Photoshop too

It's the perfect metaphor for web3 stuff: reliant on existing web infrastructure, but there's also a crypto middleman pretending to do something to create the illusion that the blockchain is doing anything meaningful

@aaronpk 56 GB for the software only? That is mind-boggling. Adobe's Creative Suite was the last thing I owned, and it was partially responsible for me to choose a different professional path, one where I didn't have to keep using Adobe CS. I miss Photoshop sometimesl (I even used to teach it at PNCA), but I minimized my toolset, and don't do anything that can't be done in Acorn.

    Aaron Parecki
ok that might have been a slight exaggeration, but it gets close to that once you install Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Audition, Premiere, and After Effects, all of which I have used somewhat regularly.

If it's possible to bootstrap a new device and get existing credentials on that device with only a phishable password, phishable SMS code, and phishable unlock code, the solution is phishable. It enables an attacker to control "something you have" using only "something you know."

Absolutely furious that people are currently able to buy THE SIMS 4 for $19.99 when I myself paid $59.99 several years ago. A real slap in the face to those who worked hard and paid full price.

So sad that my neighbourhood lost 2 parking spots to accommodate a dog-friendly patio, with flowers, artwork and bike racks, that fits 20 people.

It’s good to be reminded that when people give concrete examples of using space differently to improve the lives of people living in a neighborhood, there’s always some constipated car-living boomer to add at least one humbug to the discussion. Don’t like it? Move to Florida.

This is a really important point because scientifically, life doesn't "begin" at any point in pregnancy. What discussions about when life begins are trying to capture is when a fetus can be considered to have a soul, in a very Christian sense.

Creators are getting HIGHER RETENTION RATES using this trick in videos:

Use 10-12 cuts and or visual changes in the first 15 seconds of your videos and tell me if that improved the first 30 seconds' retention rate for your videos.

works even better if you do 20-30 cuts in 30s

I’d like to report a malfunction.

There’s a rock in front of me, it’s clear to my MastCams that the rock is broken. Shattered into pieces and worn down by winds and sands so that it’s unrecognizable to what it once was.

I have an instrument that’s telling me the rock is fine.
