✅ It has interoperability: you get a JPEG on your hard drive
✅ It has payments: your grandma can use them

    Good morning Philadelphia!

I took the drone out for a quick early morning flight! It was definitely a bit nerve wracking flying at 500ft! 😅

@aaronpk what model drone are you using for that -- that photo is amazing

    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! It's the DJI Mini 2! Reasonably cheap and very easy to use! I'm still too scared about crashing to fly a $2000 drone

  • 🔴 Live Q&A from Philadelphia! Flying drones, mobile livestreaming rigs, and more!

I'm in Philadelphia this week! I brought my DJI Mini drone and have already flown around the city a bit! I've also got an interesting 360 camera here that I might use during my meetings this week, so we can take a look at that on the YoloBox too. Join me for another live Q&A about livestreaming, the ATEM Mini, the YoloBox, and the rest of the gear I brought with me!

The #IETF114 #oauth WG meeting is going to be a tour de force.
I think I’ll have to rap thru the deck to make it in 10 - perhaps I can convince @__b_c to beatbox 😛

Other than shock collars for laggards, I see no viable strategy 😂
More seriously: I think there plan is simply to have ALL discussions and QA out of band, this will be only us updating the WG.

The degradation of services we are seeing with sites like Instagram makes me think companies like Meta who are reliant solely on ad revenue are in deep shit. I’m seeing a lot of companies tighten their belts on ad spending and being more aware of where the spend goes.

Here’s why I’m not on the “AI is stealing from artists” train and why I think technology that democratizes creativity is almost always a net good. Someone asked if I was concerned AI was taking from my value as an artist, and just in replying I ended up finding new artistic value

The thing about technology taking our jobs is that it fucking SHOULD, as in, it should take our jobs so we can fuck off and relax because we’ve made technology that can do work for us! Capitalism has fucked that all up. Universal Basic Income is a step towards correcting that.

A common elder wisdom when I was a kid was that "you won't make any money being an artist!" Art, they said, is a fine hobby, but not a practical career path. I proved them wrong, but art is BETTER as a hobby. Let robots make ads for Pepsi and pay us to live so we can make OUR art

Text-to-image AI tools open up visual creativity to a vast blue ocean of new people who have never been able to visualize their ideas before because they lack the technical talent or have disabilities or maybe capitalism has stolen the time it would take to paint their ideas.

You can automate processes all you want, but ideas will remain the true currency. If it threatens you that more people can easily make art now, you should consider whether your ideas have any value beyond your technical skills, and if not, it’s time to get new ideas.
