Just like has happened with email, it's likely to tend towards centralization over time - with the majority of custodial wallets managed by a few giant services

At which point, again, why are we bothering with all of the negative blockchain externalities?

At this point, people are just playing say what they see and sticking "but with NFTs" on the end without ever stopping to ask if it actually makes sense.
