Also, if you try to force the transfer to repeat, by navigating again to the old URL, it will still not transfer data, and wipe your new stats in the process. They don’t seem to have put much thoughts on edge cases 😛

That's weird, that's not what happens for me, if the nytimes version has any of its own stats it doesn't overwrite it from the redirect.
