After a long time, a new way to login to websites was invented. Many other websites started using it. For a while it was called “OAuth” but now it’s called "OpenID Connect." It has other names too.

Having been on both sides I can definitively say that working for other people sucks.

And a lot of what I thought was “security” was more of an illusion than anything.

Doesn’t mean full time YT is the answer, but your time is a very valuable thing to sell to others.
