I'm amazed by how much work (in a large org like google) gets done because a single person has a vision and pursues it. I can tell by projects that lose steam/direction when they leave. You'd think people in an org as big as google are more interchangeable than they actually are.

I made a half-hearted attempt at putting a GPG key on Yubikey but honestly it's too unimportant and convoluted to do without someone paying me to figure it out.

I tried that too at one point, and then after spending way too long reading docs and failing to run obscure commands I realized wait, literally nobody cares, and continued on signing my git commits from the PGP key on my computer.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
