@aaronpk I’m confused what’s going on with your site. These are a year old, but don’t look like boosts? Are you doing this manually?
It was a bug in the workflow I use to post these! It thought it hadn't imported these before so it sent them again. It did use the correct date, which surfaces an interesting "feature" of Mastodon which is that it will show you posts it receives at the top of the feed regardless of the date in the post's metadata. -

But in general I agree – the tension between interop and innovation was explicitly the reason I never got involved with the ActivityStreams work; it felt way too early to define content schemas. I'm not sure I ever did a good job explaining my reasoning, though. 😉
