The @wirecutter recommends buying a @TCL_USA TV. I've never heard of TCL.

    I was considering a @SamsungUS QLED Q70T Series.

Am I off base? Should I follow the @wirecutter's recommendation?

Pretty sure they're all the same panels underneath. That said I still wouldn't buy any smart TV. Give me a big display and let me add the smarts in external devices instead.

Last time I bought a TV I found a "commercial display" which was the only way to get a not-smart TV. It's the kind of thing you'd buy for airports and bars. I bought this in like 2014 though and I'm hoping I don't have to replace it any time soon.

I have an LG OLED (also recommended by wirecutter) and a few TCLs too. OLED has horrible burn in and I've replaced the panel 2x. TCL high end models are great and so much cheaper. Recommended TCL! The Roku OS is also great on the TCL.

Which display would you buy in that case?
