That’s what I thought. Thanks. Nice, measured 18% or just something that looked middle-grey-ish at the paint store? I need to paint my new wall this weekend.

I did this with my studio, I brought the X-Rite Passport video to the paint store, asked them for their most neutral greys, then found a shade that looked extremely close to the middle grey chip. Some grey paints have colors so make sure to ask which ones aren't tinted.

  Anything. Cheap LED lights on amazon and some colored photo gel. You get what you pay for but on a budget it’s hard to beat.

  Top tip: you can gel a white LED for a lot cheaper than a bright RGB LED

  I still need to invest in some decent lights to actually light the background now! In the video I shot today it looks pretty much black.
