😱 Came home from a trip to a failed hard drive on one of my home servers. Time to put my backup system to the test!

💾 New drive is on its way, warranty return for the old drive is started.

☁️ Once the new drive arrives, I'll attempt to restore it from my local backup. With any luck, that'll work. Otherwise I'll have to get a drive mailed to me from Backblaze.

    🚀 Here we go!

$10k for an authentication bypass by removing “employee” from the scope parameter in an oauth url which led to access all internal services with a normal user account.

do you have a link to a summary of this that's public? I would love to include this in an upcoming talk.

Хороший доклад по OAuth, вместо дюжины RCF (или как пролог к их чтению :) https://twitter.com/aaronpk/status/1179002773934706688

Welding and tech are two industries that are roughly the same age, yet one has internationally-accepted codes that ensure the work doesn’t endanger human lives, protects its workers’ rights with robust unions and safety practices, and has professional organizations that actually keep workers skills up to date.

    Welding also pays more.

#IndiewebCamp, #Fronteers and #ViewSource week over. I overcame exhaustion and severe asthma to deliver an opening talk at a huge international conference. I wish I could show this BADASS lady to sickly and anxious 15 year old Charlie. ♥️

Update: new drive is restoring from my local backup. Currently at 250gb out of 4tb after a few hours. Slow but steady progress.

This is why I always have 3 copies of everything! I wouldn't want to be in a situation where my backup copy fails while restoring it to my main drive, leaving me with nothing.
